About Overdrive
British Heavy Metal Since 1977
Formed in the Midlands in 1977, Overdrive are one of the original bands of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Following the release of their debut EP, On The Run, the band gained national radio airplay and toured alongside acts including Def Leppard, Bernie Tormé and Lionheart.
Nearly five decades later, Overdrive remain active on the live circuit and are currently working on a new release of the classic On The Run EP, continuing the legacy of British heavy metal for a new generation.
